Dr. Miki Edwards, Our New Executive Director

Dr. Miki Edwards

When Dr. Edwards revealed her retirement as the principal of Morgan County High School, The Wheelhouse wasted no time in approaching her. We’re thrilled to announce that Miki shares our vision—a commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship and driving home-grown economic growth within her community.

Dr. Miki Edwards is thrilled to serve as the inaugural Executive Director of The Madison Wheelhouse. Building on the foundation laid by a dedicated Board of Directors, Miki is passionate about fostering deeper connections between entrepreneurs and mentors, while enhancing The Wheelhouse’s role as a cornerstone for innovation and entrepreneurial support within the community.

With 32 years of experience in education, 25 of those in leadership, Miki has a proven track record in guiding people, progress, and innovation. She began her career in Rockdale County Public Schools, working at the middle and high school levels, and later became deeply involved in the College and Career Academy movement. Miki played a key role in establishing the Georgia College and Career Network. She served as its founding Chair, providing invaluable support to other school systems in launching their own career academies. Before retiring, she proudly led Morgan County High School as principal/CEO of its Georgia College and Career Academy.

Miki firmly believes in the power of community and the magic that happens when people connect and collaborate. Her greatest joy comes from seeing others grow and succeed.

Miki and her husband, Steve, enjoy life in Madison and are proud parents of two grown sons, Bryce and Brett.
